What to do before we arrive
These steps limit damage while we are on the way.
- Turn off the stopcock. It is usually under the kitchen sink, or where the pipe enters the house. Turn clockwise.
- Switch off electrics near water. If water is near sockets or light fittings, switch off at the consumer unit if it is safe to reach.
- Turn off the boiler or immersion heater. This protects the system if hot water pipes are affected.
- Open the cold taps. This drains the remaining water out of the pipes.
- Catch and soak up water. Use buckets and towels, and move valuables away.
- Send us a photo on WhatsApp. It helps us bring the right parts.
If the stopcock will not turn, do not force it. We will isolate the water when we arrive.

When to call an emergency plumber
Call us straight away if
- Water is coming through a ceiling or light fitting
- A pipe has burst or split, including frozen pipes that have thawed
- You cannot turn the water off, or the stopcock is leaking
- A toilet or cold water tank is overflowing and will not stop
- Your only toilet is blocked or will not flush
Our hours, honestly
We work 24 hours a day Wednesday to Sunday, and 9am–5pm on Monday and Tuesday. Outside those hours, send a WhatsApp and we will reply first thing. Callouts between midnight and 6am carry a flat £40 surcharge. There is no weekend premium.
Not a plumbing job
If you smell gas, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. If the whole street has no water, check with Portsmouth Water first.

2. Fixed price before we start
You agree the price before any work begins. No callout charge.
3. Make safe, then repair
We stop the water first, then repair it properly, usually on the same visit.
4. Itemised invoice
You get an invoice with what we found and fixed, which is useful for insurers.

Do you charge a callout fee for emergencies?
No. There is no callout charge. You only pay for the work, at a price agreed before we start.
Are you really available 24 hours?
Wednesday to Sunday, yes. On Monday and Tuesday we work 9am–5pm. Outside those hours, WhatsApp us and we reply first thing.
How quickly can you get to me?
We aim for 60 minutes across our area, and sooner closer to Chichester. Each area page shows the target for that town.
Is there a surcharge at night or at weekends?
There is no weekend or Bank Holiday premium. Callouts between midnight and 6am carry a flat £40 surcharge.
What areas do you cover for emergencies?
